Established in 2001, the International Studies Institute (ISI Florence) serves as an independent American center for higher education in Florence, Italy.

In 2005, ISI Florence founded the Consortium for Public Universities, including members such as Penn State University, University of Connecticut, University of Virginia, University of Maryland, and University of Melbourne.

The institute collaborates with various universities and the Università di Firenze on academic initiatives. ISI Florence welcomes new institutional partners whose students display maturity, enthusiasm, and commitment.
